It was around 13 years old when I, being consumed with my time on the soccer field and ice hockey rink, fell in love with the sport of tennis.  And then you couldn't get me off the court.  When I was 18, I took a summer job as an Instructor's assistant for a recreation department's tennis classes for both children and adults.  And it was then that I fell in love with teaching tennis as well.

During my years studying at Villanova University, I continued to teach tennis during the summers, but several years after graduation it would become my full time passion - and career.  I relied heavily on video - another passion of mine - to teach.  And not just to others, but to myself as well.  As a teen, I would use camcorders to record myself hitting tennis balls, then eventually digital cameras, then iPads and phones.  Tennis, I discovered, is an extremely VISUAL sport.  I taught myself the proper strokes and techniques by analyzing what I looked like on video and studying photos and videos of the professionals. The results were remarkable.

Video analysis gave me the secrets to understanding, changing and improving my technique like no coaching tip, drill, or practice could do.  Now, with technology making it easier than ever, I've brought this approach of teaching tennis to a lot of my students of all ages over the years, and guess what?  The results have been... remarkable.

I live in the wonderful beach town of Point Pleasant, NJ with my wife and my two young sons (6 and 3 years old).  Before committing to teaching tennis full time, I lived in New York City while working in the film industry, both as a story analyst for Miramax Films and as an actor's assistant on feature films.
